The Brenda Smith Harris Scholarship is a merit-based award that supports students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to service within their school or community. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who exhibit integrity, initiative, and the capacity to make meaningful contributions to society.

Minimum 3.0 weighted GPA
Official high school transcript
Resident of Franklin County, NC
Member/Attendee of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church
A current headshot
Acceptance to a 4-year college or university*
Participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or sports
1 letter of recommendation from a school professional
*Acceptance to a 4-year college or university can be pending confirmation of acceptance at the time the scholarship application is submitted.
